GuideWyze™ ("we, " "us, " or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit guidewyze.com, purchase our products, book a session, or otherwise interact with us, and how we use and protect that information.

By using our website or services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are

GuideWyze is an advance care planning advocacy business based in Arizona, founded by Jennifer Michaels, CDP®. We offer digital products, educational materials, and one-on-one advance care planning sessions.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

When you interact with GuideWyze, you may give us:

  • Contact information: name, email address, phone number, mailing address
  • Account information: username and password (if you create a Kajabi account)
  • Payment information: processed through Stripe (we do not store full payment card details ourselves — see Section 5)
  • Booking information: appointment preferences, session type, and any notes you provide when scheduling through Calendly
  • Communications: the content of emails, messages, or session intake forms you send us
  • Advance care planning information: if you share personal details about your wishes, family situation, health concerns, or caregiving experiences during sessions or in workbook submissions, we treat this information with strict confidentiality (see Section 4)

When you visit our website, we may automatically collect:

  • IP address and approximate location
  • Browser type and device information
  • Pages visited, time spent, and referring website
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Deliver the products and services you purchase
  • Process payments and send order confirmations
  • Schedule and conduct one-on-one sessions
  • Send post-purchase email sequences related to your purchase
  • Send marketing emails about new products, content, or offers (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Respond to your questions and provide customer support

  • With your explicit permission, use testimonials, quotes, or stories you share in marketing materials (see Section 4)

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Confidentiality of Sensitive Personal Information

Advance care planning often involves deeply personal information about your health, family, values, and end-of-life wishes. We treat this information with the highest level of care.

  • Information shared during one-on-one sessions is kept strictly confidential and is not shared with anyone outside of GuideWyze without your explicit written permission.
  • Session recordings. We do not record sessions by default. If a recording would be useful (for your reference, for follow-up, or for any other reason), we will ask for your explicit permission before starting the recording. Any recordings made with your consent are stored securely, used only for the purpose you agreed to, and never shared outside of GuideWyze without additional written permission from you. You may request deletion of any recording at any time.
  • Testimonials. If you share a kind word, story, or feedback about your experience with GuideWyze, we will ask for your explicit written permission before using any portion of it in marketing materials, on our website, or on social media. We will never use your full name, photo, or identifying details without your additional consent. You may withdraw permission and request removal of a testimonial at any time by emailing [email protected].
  • We do not provide medical, legal, or financial advice. GuideWyze is an advocacy and educational service, not a clinical, legal, or financial provider, and is not subject to HIPAA. However, we voluntarily maintain confidentiality standards appropriate to the sensitive nature of this work.
  • We may disclose information if required by law (for example, in response to a valid subpoena) or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm.

5. How We Share Information

We share information only with the service providers who help us run our business. These include:

  • Kajabi — our website, course, email marketing, and customer management platform
  • ConvertKit — for select email marketing and list management
  • Stripe — our payment processor (Stripe stores your payment card information directly under its own privacy and security standards)
  • Calendly — our appointment scheduling tool
  • Zoom — for one-on-one sessions and video meetings
  • Google Workspace — for email and document storage
  • Facebook (Meta) — for advertising and audience measurement, if you've interacted with our ads (see Section 7)

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and security practices. We choose providers that meet industry standards for data protection.

We may also share information when:

  • You give us permission to do so
  • It is required by law, subpoena, or legal process
  • It is necessary to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others
  • We are involved in a business transfer (such as a sale or merger), in which case you will be notified

6. Data Retention

We keep your information only as long as needed to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your information at any time (see Section 9).

7. Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, understand how visitors use the site, and improve your experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect site functionality.

We may also use:

  • Google Analytics or similar tools to understand site traffic patterns
  • Facebook Pixel (Meta Pixel) to measure ad performance and reach relevant audiences on Facebook and Instagram
  • Email open and click tracking through Kajabi

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before sharing any information.

Service Area

GuideWyze products and services are intended for users in the United States. We do not actively market to or solicit customers outside the U.S. If you access our website from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

10. Children's Privacy

GuideWyze is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using providers who maintain industry-standard security practices. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you have reason to believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version here with a new "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be communicated by email or a notice on our website.
